Congratulations on your pregnancy! I would love to help you feel more confident and prepared for birth, baby and beyond.
My experience as a labor nurse, childbirth educator and mother has taught me that women are far more likely to be happy with their birth experience when they understand what is happening during this time, know the advantages and disadvantages of medical interventions they are likely to be offered so they have time to prepare beforehand for the kind of birth they want to have.
If you have had a birth that made you very anxious, I would love to hear your experience and help you prepare for your next birth differently.
In addition to recommending the Understanding Birth App sold on this website, I also encourage those who are interested to make daily use of the GentleBirth App part of their birth preparation. This lessens the need for medication during labor should you choose to have an unmedicated birth. The app will also help prepare those who would like a medicated birth (such as an epidural) as well. Using this App lessens the likelihood of you receiving high risk medication in labor such as Pitocin.
Receiving less medication in labor goes along with needing less monitoring, less interventions, more freedom of movement which helps with comfort and helps labor progress faster. The benefits of learning these techniques go way beyond birth itself, and this is something we can talk about in our 1:1 session if you'd like.
